The differences matter more than the spec sheets suggest. Below each one is what we actually use it for.
60 addressable RGBW LEDs per metre on a double-sided PCB. The workhorse for coves, soffits, railings and under-counter runs.
840 chip-on-board LEDs per metre, which is dense enough that the dots disappear. Use it anywhere the light source is in view and a row of diodes would look cheap.
A 20 × 20 mm flexible neon jacket over an addressable RGBW strip. Bends on the flat, holds a clean edge, and is the right answer for signage, soffit lines and pool coping.
A 40° linear wash for putting an even field of light up a wall. This is what grazes a stone facade or lifts a feature wall without a visible hot spot.
A 490 × 250 mm addressable RGB panel that cuts every six pixels. Backlighting, signage and display work — anywhere you need a lit surface rather than a lit line.

Every linear run we install outdoors goes into an anodised 6063-T5 aluminium profile with a polycarbonate diffuser over it. Three separate reasons, none of them cosmetic.
The extrusion sinks heat away from the diodes, which is most of why an LED run reaches its rated life instead of dimming out early. The anodised layer takes the UV and the oxidation instead of the finish underneath. And the polycarbonate diffuser turns a row of visible diodes into an even line while taking the impact — hail, a ladder, a snow shovel — that would otherwise land on the strip.

840 LEDs per metre, dense enough that the dots vanish. Costs more and lasts 36,000 hours rather than 50,000. Worth it where people can see the fixture.
